A major accomplishment of the Trump administration was securing the U.S. border by imposing order with existing laws. The immigration and border policies that were implemented are only one achievement within a lengthy summary located at the White House online archive. I suggest you review that document if you did not have the opportunity or did not know it was there. You may also want to peruse my article titled “The Natives are Restless for Birthright Jurisprudence – Don’t Tread On Me,” published in Nov. 2018, which covered the previous immigration crisis and a historical perspective on how the “Don’t Tread On Me” motto came to be.
It is stunning how Biden is focused on abolishing so many achievements with a stroke of his pen across an unprecedented 52 executive orders and actions in less than three weeks of occupying the White House. The following are a few points from the Trump administration’s “Achieving a Secure Border” accomplishment summary:
- Secured the southern border of the United States
- Built over 400 miles of the world’s most robust and advanced border wall
- Illegal crossings plummeted over 87% where the wall has been constructed
- Fully enforced the immigration laws of the United States
- Ended asylum fraud, shut down human smuggling traffickers, and solved the humanitarian crisis across the western hemisphere
- Secured our nation’s immigration system against criminals and terrorists
- Protected American workers and taxpayers
Undoing Trump’s Immigration Policies… “A newly released report makes a case for how President Biden’s immigration policies will endanger Americans by reducing border security and enforcement, and elevating the risk posed by criminal illegal aliens.” – Epoch Times, Feb. 13
Mainstream media in the U.S. briefly covered the new immigration rush towards the southern border last month but mysteriously fell silent after videos surfaced that show mobs of thousands of migrants clashing violently with security forces at Central American borders.
One aspect of the unlawful border policies that Biden revived is the “catch and release” process. It allows foreign nationals that arrive illegally at the border to be released into the interior of the U.S. with a promise to attend their immigration hearing at a later date. Border and judicial facilities do not have the capacity to handle another immigration onslaught like the one experienced during the final year of the Obama administration. Biden is also allowing asylum seekers across the border that were made to wait for their U.S. immigration hearings in Mexico.
Biden to Begin Allowing Asylum Seekers Waiting in Mexico to Enter U.S. “The Biden administration said it would begin processing some asylum seekers who are waiting in Mexico because of a Trump administration policy that barred entry to the U.S. while their cases were being considered… Starting Feb. 19 the migrants would be processed and allowed to enter through three ports, though it declined to disclose which ports.” – WSJ, Feb. 12
It is fascinating that an official at Biden’s CDC said “we are actively looking at” requiring a SARSCoV2 test before travelers can board a domestic flight but illegal aliens are being allowed to cross over the border and be escorted anywhere they demand without a test while virus mutations (aka variants) are multiplying like rabbits (see my article and subsequent Twitter thread with updates). It appears that airline industry executives are fighting back and met with Biden last week to have their voices heard.
According to one Texas sheriff, “it’s absolutely true” that Biden is releasing illegals into the U.S. without a COVID test. Governor DeSantis of Florida also pommeled Biden’s plans for domestic travel restrictions while allowing illegal aliens to flow freely into the U.S. without testing.
“Irreparable harm, yes, we’re worried. Every police officer in the United States should be extremely concerned about the attitude, the lawlessness, the complete abject removal of law, we have a nullification of the law here going on. It’s not we’re not going to enforce anything, we’re going to allow our CBP, our ICE officers, USCIS, but all three were affected by this memorandum, which effectively guts the IMA and in handcuffs them where they’re unable to respond. So, in law enforcement here, those of us who do not have the jurisdiction to enforce the federal laws here, we (Biden) have created a situation, which is unthinkable for the public. The public has no idea, the strength of a memorandum that’s been filed here in the United States by this administration.” – Jackson Country Texas Sheriff A.J. Louderback
On a related issue, a Texas judge blocked Biden’s deportation freeze until Feb. 23 and ruled that the federal government cannot make immigration enforcement changes without first consulting Texas. Also, Texas Attorney Ken Paxton has sued the Biden administration over the deportation freeze.
Texas Judge Blocks Biden’s Deportation Freeze for Two More Weeks… “‘On its first day in office, the Biden Administration cast aside congressionally enacted immigration laws and suspended the removal of illegal aliens whose removal is compelled by those very laws. In doing so, it ignored basic constitutional principles and violated its written pledge to work cooperatively with the State of Texas to address shared immigration enforcement concerns. This unlawful reversal will cause Texas immediate and irreparable harm if it is not enjoined,’ Paxton’s lawsuit said.” – Epoch Times, Feb. 9
Several law enforcement officials are speaking out publicly and anonymously about how damaging Biden’s immigration policy will turn out to be. As the weather begins to warm during early spring, the number of migrants fleeing Central America is expected to increase exponentially.
This Is How You Embolden Human Traffickers, Drug Cartels… “‘We’re expecting a huge influx this year along the Southern border,’ said a Border Patrol agent, who spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak on the matter. ‘No one wants to fix the problem. It’s going to be the same ol’ thing but worse. They don’t care about these people because they (the Biden administration) would actually put a stop to this, not use them in some sort of game — just look at the trains piling up in Mexico — the smugglers are having a field day at our expense’… In one video circulating among federal law enforcement officials working along the border, and allegedly filmed by Mexican authorities last week, hundreds of migrants are seen cheering on top of ‘La Bestia,’ one of the many networks of freight trains running through Mexico from its southernmost border with Guatemala to the U.S. border… Promises being made by the drug cartels and human smugglers to the migrants are true: President Joe Biden’s administration is more lenient on illegal immigrants, has paused the construction of the border wall and is promising to develop an immigration policy to give amnesty to the roughly 11 million-plus illegal immigrants in the United States.” – Sara Carter, Feb. 9
If you thought the only officials speaking out are near the southern border, be sure to watch Sheriff Chuck Jenkins in Maryland within Sara’s article noted above. He eviscerated Biden for decapitating ICE by instructing agents to basically stand down. None of this is good news. With a pandemic that is not over and an economy that is nearing implosion with money printing gone wild, I see bad endings. Got gold and silver?
